The mesmorizing element of Fire

// August 19th, 2010 // 1 Comment » // Inspiration, Photos, Random Thoughts

On my trip to Oregon this past week I had the plesure of playing guitar and banging out a few old classics around the camp fire in a town I can’t remember. I just wanted to give a shout to Stephen Reynolds, he was 16 years old but had grown with the classics and was pretty talented. Watch out for him. And If you get a chance to read this Stephen, keep on keeping on.

“Don’t Miss Me”

// October 29th, 2009 // No Comments » // Inspiration, Music, Random Thoughts

I just thought everyone should check out this track I’ve been vibing for the last month. The Artist is  The Derek Trucks Band, and they are Fucking amazing. Dereks father died at a young age and he he happened to be in the Allman Bros inner circle so they raised Derek on blues music and…slide guitar. A few years ago he was mentions in a Rolling Stone cover story for the new generations guitar gods, including John Frucetti and John Mayer.

Check it out..Its to dope to smoke

Birdies For the Brave

// August 10th, 2009 // 2 Comments » // Inspiration, Photos

If you haven’t heard about what Phil Mickelson does so quitely for charities then you should know he has done so much to benifit people in need. A true peoples champ. This brings me to my title of this blog, “Birdies for the Brave” is a non profit charity. When Phil scores a birdie (-1) on the card he donates $500.00, when he makes eagle (-2) he puts $1000.00 into the charity from his own pocket. Now i don’t know if you know this but Phil Mickelson is the no. 2 player in the world and that can transend a lot of birdies.

What i am really getting at is..I wanted to tell everyone about my friend Bryant Jacobs. Whom served in Iraq and unfortunately was injured very badly. These injuries caused by a road side bomb and shrapnel would be devestating to any normal person, could you imagine seeing half of your leg missing and having shrapnel lodged from your chest down to your belly button. Scary feeling.

I will tell you right Bryant does not want you to feel bad for him, He has to be one of the most humble and courageous human beings I have ever met. hands down. I don’t know what it feels like to sacrifice everything in my life to go serve for the people of my country. All the opportunities i enjoy in the U.S. wouldn’t be possible if not for the these soldiers like Bryant and many others who served, and others still active.

Now Bryant is one hell of a golfer. It was a big step in his recovery; he started swinging in a wheelchair, then moved to a walker. He will tell you when he hit a drive 100 yards, that was a huge boost to his moral. You have to realize he had maybe played approximately ten rounds prior to this. Bryant today can drive a ball 270 yards! Now that is heart, determination, and a true passion for the game because i know a lot of people who have been playing for decades and would wish to have his game.  I was fortunate enough to play a few rounds with Bryant in a tournament and just for good times. But this weekend had to be the best golf experience of my life. Having spent the weekend in Vegas for Bryant’s celebtration of his key ceremony he was able to get us a free round at a top 100 course in America, The Cascata Golf club. Being good friends with Butch Harmon gave us the pleasure of having his personal caddy mo for the day. This had to be the best course i will ever play. I am not a rich man but this course is $400.00 a round! But for all the laughs, and unbelievable shots, both luck and skill involved, I would say well worth it.

Thank you Bryant for your sacrifice and bravery. You are a true inpiration in my life.
